**listadmin note: Some moron (actually, two different morons) posted
a chain letter four times to the list in the past 24 hours. You might
see references to these postings in some of the messages in this digest,
but I have not included the original chain letter ("Dear so-and-so, this
message has been sent tot you for luck..."). Both morons have been removed
from the list and their postmasters have been notified.

Try these lyrics, the song "swallow my pride" is a cover of a Green River
song (i think they did it first) and this is from the cd liner notes of the
album Come on Down
**this is from the original, some lyrics are slightly different**

She looked at me with dignity
"there's one thing you gotta see,
even though were headed for war,
this nations prouder than ever before,
yes there's a spirit in the air,
we're more american than anywhere"
well I just smiled cause I could tell
this little girl's going to hell

        now I wouldn't mind
        if you swallow my pride
        make me feel alright
        deep inside, feel alright

all the warmth in her heart
can't keep my blood from running cold
first I fell for her looks
now I wanna go for the throat
I tried to tell her a hundred times
this little girl didn't understand at all
pride comes before a fall

Hope that this helps you.

down here they are also called "nirvana's in pajamas" (don't know if you get
the banannas in pajamas in the US, but the Aussie ppl should get it :)

Have seen em live and well they couldn't play is basically it (and I think
they can't play on cd, so I might be biased...way to unoriginal) I think it
is there first tour to the USA they have played a hell of alot down here
unfortuantly. BTW I would be interested in what the crowd is made up of.
Most gigs down here consist of 14-15 yr old girls.

The following playlist is from two of the shows I saw last year in San Jose
and Berkley, Ca. of which I also have video bootlegs. Jesus Christ Pose,
Spoonman (totally ignoring the spoon solo),Drown, Mailman, The Day I Tried to
Live, My Wave, Room 1000 Years Wide, Black Hole Sun, Seeing with My Good Eye
Closed, Superunkwown, Rusty Cage, Half, Mind Riot, Fell on Black Days,
Slaves and Bulldozers, Kickstand, Face Pollution, Like Suicide, Somewhere,
Head Down, Limo Wreck. I
know Jackhammer didn't care about the complete list, but, now you can see
that they didn't do any of their older material.

Digging the Garden is a two part bootleg. The first part is the exact
concert of the Motorvision video. Which was in Seattle on 3/5,6/92. The
second part of the bootleg is a show in some disco in Germany...sometime in
92.

Hi Laura

I see you also sent a similar note to the Soundgarden mailing list (so I'm
sending a copy of this there too), and got a reply from 'DEFsonic' - another
Australian hello DEFsonic!!). He obviously doesn't think much of
Silverchair. I guess not everyone likes the same music.

I really loved Silverchair's first single "Tomorrow", and like you have
their Frogstomp CD. They released "Tomorrow" as an EP which had 3 other
songs on it (none of the 3 are on Frogstomp) - one being called "Blind"
which I really like. Anyway, I haven't been to any of their concerts over
here. I live 450 km from both Adelaide and Melbourne - two capital cities
in Australia - and since most big concerts are held only in capital cities,
I unfortunately don't get to many. However, I know a couple of guys who
went to an outdoor Silverchair concert at Torquay (a good surfing area in
southern Australia) and they absolutely loved it. It was at Easter time,
and the atmosphere was great, etc. etc. (no, DEFsonic, I don't know how
many 14-15 year old girls there were in the crowd!!).

Laura, let me know what the concert on 15 September is like...........

Cheers ~

Carolyn.

Well, to me they are b/c I'm from a small town that doesn't any rock
concerts. they are all country. So, the only way I really have of
seeing a band live is to hear the bootleg.

Hear, hear!! I'm also not from the city (a country girl that's me). I LOVE
hearing live concerts on CD. What a pity more aren't released by the bands
themselves with good sound quality. Are there any legitimate live
Soundgarden albums, for example??

Yes, it's me again (the one who asked if anyone in the states had heard of
Silverchair). This time to ask about Offspring. {Does it matter that I
don't ONLY write about Soundgarden on the soundgarden mailing list?? I hope
not.}

[at least I'm not sending crappy chain letters - I've received seven so far

Another band I really like is Offspring, and I just wanted to know if any of
you can tell me a bit more about them. I couldn't find any info on them on
the Internet.

I have two of their albums - Ignition and Smash - and love them. Do they
have any other albums? And is Offspring very popular with Soundgarden fans??

See ya.
