March 8th, 1994 didn't mean crap to me though, because I taped Superunknown off of Z-Rock or whatever radio station aired the entire album the weekend before it came out. It was cool, but it took the excitement of the release date out entirely, and I don't want no radio stations airing the new album before it comes out. Course, I could just not listen to the radio, but I'd be drawn to it. Soundgarden calls my name. I mean, in Rusty Cage, he does say "I'm gonna break my Rusty Cage, Erin," does he not? I know, I know. It's 'break my Rusty Cage AND RUN.." but misheard lyrics are cool. :> i'll shut up now.. foreshocks ------------------------------ From: John Hackworth Subject: what's out there Ok all of you Soundgarden junkies, this is Hackworth don't worry if you haven't heard from me before because I'm new to the list. Anyhow I was reading some of the past Digests and saw the mentioning of some Soundgarden goods I've never seen around North Western PA. So I'm thinking why don't we all make a trip to our local record marts and see what is still comercially available. Not just old albums but everything out there. I'm talking LP's, EP's, cassettes, CD's, CD+, T-shirts and bits of clothing, even side projects like Hater and Screaming Trees' old album Uncle Anesthesia which Chris helped produce(or something like that). e-mail what you find to the list or me which ever is convienient and I'll post a consilidated version of all we find in a few weeks. Head Down is one of my favorite songs on the album, so i listen to it a lot. I am not sure who said it but this is the exact same thing i said. This person said that it was about feeling shitty and something else, i cannot remember. Now for my two cents. I feel the song is about confronting your fears and having a low self esteem. The chours says "head down on your smile", so me think that someone is frowning on your achievments or something of the nature. I dunno, just a thought. Alot of MLB fans hate it, 'cuz they think it's just something Stoney and Jeff put out to make more money, but it's not. Don't pay $18 for it, though. Maybe you should call Ghostbusters. FO>I've been so out of it, have we decided on a list t-shirt yet? Ok. I talked to a local guy I know, and he said he can make the shirts for under $10 a shirt (maybe $7.50 at the lowest), with a little pocket type thingie (preferably a word such as SOMMS), and a picture on the back with the slogan. Unfortunately, the only colors he has are white, black, and a tan sorta color (more of an off white, though...sounds like that natural color Geoff was talking about). I'm pretty sure whatever we want won't show up on the black shirt, though. Anyway, he also said he could have them done in two or three days. He's only one man, though (that's what he told me, but I thought he looked like two), so it may take four. So it sounds like this would be the best deal yet, and I would be happy to coolect the money and buy the shirts. I'd have to get the money first, though (before the shirts are made). He said there'd be no problem making a few more shirts after the bulk of them were made. But try to order one now. Anyway, tell me what you think, and let's decide on a design so we can get this thing started. Also, if I do do this, I'd have to charge shipping and handling, which would be more for people outside the continental US, so we also have to decide whether the outside the US people pay extra, or we all just chip in a few extra cents for them, so it's even for all of us. This was interesting, since he had never subscribed to the list in the first place, but was getting mail anyway. It took me a *long* time to figure out what was going on. How do I figure out which address out of 400 is causing the problem? Solution: I won't even bore you further with the details (the fact that you've read this far indicates that you're bored enough).
