I seem to remember reading that somewhere. Ben tried out as second guitar for a little garage band from Seattle (well, it sure beats raising cattle... Weird Al), Nirvana. That was of course before Soundgarden. From what I recall he tried out for Soundgarden on guitar (2nd player) in between Ultramega OK & Louder Than Love... or was it that he tried out on bass before Jason Everman after Hiro left? Anyway, yeah, Ben was originally a guitar player which would explain his ability to play a bass much like a guitar. ray (c: ------------------------------ From: UnknMan@aol.com Subject: "share if it makes you sleep" (c: Congratulations to Ms Kate Phelan for winning the My Wave CD single. Kate, if you could just e-mail your street address, I'll mail you the bomb, opps, I mean disc as soon as I can. So I commend Kate for well, being able to stick to the bottom of my shoe! I'll release info on the next giveaway in a few days! ray (c: ------------------------------ From: blind dog Subject: I'm just a regular man... Anyway, as far as I know, ben tried out for the position of bass player directly after louder than love was recorded. I think ben was actually a better player (from what I've read), but because the band were about to launch a world tour and jason knew the songs better than ben did, jason got the job. but he didn't keep it for long . ----------------------------------- a thousand doors, a thousand lies rooms a thousand years wide - words by kim thayil ----------------------------------- ------------------------------ From: Josh_Garza@teachnet.edb.utexas.edu (Josh Garza) Subject: Re(2): from the likes of her...(that one's for jamie) Yeh ben was Nirvana's second guitarist for a very short time for a month tour they did early on in their career. I forget the details, but they weird thing was that Ben never actually played live with them at a show even though he was their second guitarist for a considerable amoutn of time.. so no more doubt about the ben's talent from me..there never was of coure though. ______________________________________ UnknMan@aol.com,Internet writes: Ben tried out as second guitar for a little garage band from Seattle (well, it sure beats raising cattle...
