Hello all! I was just wondering if there were any musicians in L.A. that were looking to play music. Let me know. : ) Josh ------------------------------ From: psyche Subject: Re: between your house and home... >Anyways, about that little bug animation. I don't get it. If you click on >the thing, from what I can tell, its a random BUG link! What significance >does it all have with soundgarden? I was just curious, and it took me to >some Bee page about raising bees. And another link was some site that you >would buy amber jewelry with little bugs stuck inside, a la Jurassic Park. >It's all weird. Well, I finally decided to check out the page and I clicked on that stupid bug thing as well ( by mistake). One minute I was with SG, the next I had a full-blown picture of a wasp in front of me. Some other links included an insect homepage and another site on butterflies. I really don't get it either. What's this connection between SG and bugs? Do they have this secret obsession with insects we don't know about? The only 'connection' I can think of right now, is the fact, that a bee once stung Chris's eyelid, while he was driving his motorcycle, but I hardly think this would make him like these insects even more! And why does that insect in the beginning eat the globe? The pics at the beginning are quite cool. Anyone noticed that the pic with the blue background a lot of people like, is similar to the one in "Seconds" magazine? The only difference is that Chris is lying down in the magazine version, but he's still wearing those corny 'Statue of Liberty' sunglasses. And one thing that annoys me (that noone has mentioned yet) is the fact that the favorite song poll, doesn't even include all SG songs! They have most of the B-sides, but they don't have Cold Bitch! Tsk, tsk...... And to end my post with yet another question: does anyone know anything about the two new SG songs that appear in the lyrics' section and are supposed to be unreleased? I hope they'll be new B-sides. well, that's all for now... sabrina ------------------------------ From: al639266@sun1.ur.mx (Robin Brookeneck) Subject: If I have a personal conversation with GOD.... ...believe me, I'll tell HIM... "PLEASE BRING SOUNDGARDEN TO MY COUNTRY"... ANYONE who reads this and can bring (yeah right!..hehe.. hey! I'm really desperate) my favorite group here ..PLEASE!!!!!!!! add Monterrey Mexico to the list tour...a lot of good bands has come here...If you have information about a latin tour..please let me know... :) THANX ! ! ! Robin. ------------------------------ From: KAISERVRBL@aol.com Subject: Johnny Cash/Rusty Cage Any word when Johnny's record will be in the stores? - -lance- ------------------------------ From: KAISERVRBL@aol.com Subject: New Songs I'm going to cry. Just when I thought I was finally closing in on having every song SG has ever released in any form (i.e. demos, boot legs, etc) I hear there are two more songs I am missing??????????? Would someone give me the information on "Ocean Fronts" & "Clean my Gun". Where are these songs from? Are they available? Can I get them? Has anyone heard them? Please let me know. Also, does anyone out there have the B-sides to the various "Outshined" singles? I would like to set up a trade for taped copies of them if any of fellow SOMMSters would be willing to help out. - -lance- P.S. FINALLY got a SOMMS disc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it's pristine. Looks like it's never even been listened to!!!!!!!!!!! ------------------------------ From: iawake@ix.netcom.com (Chris (SGardnGrl)) Subject: SAN DIEGO DATE ANNOUNCED!!! YIPPY!!!!!!! - -Christy ------------------------------ From: Andrea Pinto Subject: Truly show Hi all- I finally was able to see Truly paly last night @ Moe's in seattle. I didn't hear about the show until about 9 last night, otherwise i would've contacted other seattle sommsters. (sorry guys!) It's the first show they've played in 9 months. Aside from some technical difficulties-they were amazing. All of the songs were from their last album, with only 2 new ones, so I guess there's no new cd coming soon. It was a small crowd, but Hiro looked very chipper. Everyone coming to seattle sommsfest on oct 25th-bring earplugs! My ears are still ringing. Quote of the night: The drummer to the audience in between songs: "I'm going to pull a Chris Cornell & take off my shirt." ouch. ------------------------------ From: Mark Miller Subject: SG in San Diego Can anyone confirm that the Irvine date has been moved to San Diego? Caryn- I was at that show and I dont remeber Chris using a Fender. I have some pictures at home and now I am curious. I will have to check it out. Chris usually uses Les Paul's by Gibson or a Les Paul look alike. I read that he likes the raw sound of the cheap wood. I read that he likes the raw sound of the cheap wood. you're right, he does. Brydon wrote me and said that chris *did* use fenders that tour, and it wasn't a jaguar, but rather a jazzmaster (which does look similar, so i'm vindicated). i'm certain about the show, so maybe it was just during a few songs? - --caryn ------------------------------ From: Eric Gardner Subject: SG in SF Or rather, SG in Oakland. Last time I was there, the Henry J. Kaiser arena was in Oakland, across the bay from SF. Maybe they moved it and no one told me. Could someone from Tennessee please try to find out when the tickets first went on sale? I'd like the info for the Web page. I put down Oct 4 temporarily, and in the grand scheme of things it's completely inconsequential, but it'll drive me crazy until it's correct. :) thanks, seth ------------------------------ End of somms Digest [Volume 2 Issue 277] ****************************************
