P.S. To Buckley fans, be *sure* to check out a band called Geneva...their
new release is coming out in a couple of weeks...and the similarities to
both Buckleys is very freaky...

My Soundgarden sandwiches would probably be more interesting if I had
all types of music lumped in together, but I don't. Someday I'll have
to figure out what they would be in that case. (Am I bored?) As it is
they are:

Desmond Dekker--Devilhead--The Dickies
George Harrison--Hater--He Said
Sisters of Mercy--Skin Yard--Smashing Pumpkins
Sonic Youth--Soundgarden--Split Enz (!)
Tears for Fears--Temple of the Dog--10,000 Maniacs
The Walkabouts--Wellwater Conspiracy--Paul Westerberg

and my SG and related vinyl is in a sacred place all its own, as are the
tapes and videos (stacks of which are threatening to take over my living
room).

Hendrix, Nirvana, Soundgarden Live On In Online Museum

July 2 [16:00 EDT] -- While the structure of Seattle's Experience Music
Project won't be complete until 1999, Net-savvy fans can
check out vital moments in Seattle music history right now online.

The EMP launched its website (at www.experience.org) on
Wednesday, and fans can now delve deep into the histories of
musicians from the Pacific Northwest like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and
Jimi Hendrix.

One portion of the site, dubbed "Northwest Passage," lets users
follow the personnel
links between bands like Mudhoney, Love Battery, Soundgarden, and
Mother Love
Bone. Elsewhere, you can read Jimi Hendrix's hand-written lyrics
to a number of classic tracks.

The experience also enables users to create their own music by
strumming a collection of vintage guitars or by assembling a band
of your own and mixing their sound in the studio.

As we reported in June, the EMP plans to erect a 130,000 square
foot interactive
music museum in the Emerald City. The project sprung from the
imagination of
Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, whose love of Jimi Hendrix drove
him to plan the
museum the celebrate the music of the Pacific Northwest.

Atrocious, even *mentioning* popular music that doesn't compare to
Soundgarden.

But HEY, why don't I post MY CD collection (cynically):

I have all my SG stuff chronologically... side projects...
        soundtracks/comps... Jeff Buckley... AIC... etc...

Yeah, later,

Subject: my turn..

You know you're obsessed with Soundgarden when....

I go to sleep I have to be watching Louder Than Live or Singles. You see I
have this tv and vcr, and when the video is over it automatically rewinds
it, and the tv turns off by itself. So when I'm watching my LTL or Singles
as I fall asleep, I have to have my 5 SG cds in the 5 disc cd player, and
then when the videos are over I can listen to SG while I'm sleeping.
(This probably made no sence at all)

My Dream...not that you care...

I've been having a lot of Soundgarden dreams lately. But Ben and Matt
never seem to be in them. It's always Chris and Kim. Anyway in my dream
there was this big stage in my back yard, and they were playing on it,
except I could only see Chris and Kim. When the show was over about 5 fans
ran to Chris's car, which happened to be this black bronco. And Chris was
signing autographs, and no matter how hard I tried, there seemed to be this
barrier. Like invisible glass, and I couldn't get to Chris, and he
couldn't see me. Oh yeah this was in his early days, when he had long
hair, black shorts, burley black boots. Anyway, I was really sad...as I
watched Chris and Kim walk away. I saw them walk under this bridge by my
house. I was sitting down and crying. They walked back by, but they
didn't see me, but I could see them. They both jump in this little black
corvette, I run over and this time I could get to Kim and he signed an
autograph and we talked briefly, but his face looked different. I still
couldn't talk to Chris, there was still a barrier. As they drove off I
yelled, "Chris" this time he heard me, looked back and smiled, and kept
going.
So I walk in the house later and there is Chris and my dad talking in the
living room. Chris was still wearing the same thing, and my dad was
wearing these funky guatamaleun pants. I was freaking out, I didn't know
what to do...so I run upstairs to get a camara, except I couldn't find it.
I run downstairs and Chris has suggested to my dad that they change
outfits. Weird huh? So theirs my dad with no shirt, black shorts, and
boots. (Chris wears them alot better, might I add) Then I sat down, and
Chris comes over to me and we start chatting for awhile, about really weird
stuff.
************************
Anyway dreams over and I wake up, so I go downstairs, and my dad's sitting
downstairs drinking coffee with just those black shorts on. I started
freaking out, and told him about my dream...he thought it was pretty weird.

Ok I'm finished, thanks for reading this really boring post if you did,
just had to get it out. Thanks! Later...

Subject: you want OBSESSED, you got it!

you ready?

you know you're obsessed w/ Soundgarden when:

*you're friend pulls out Camels and lights up and you tell them Chris Cornell
smokes them too....even though she listens to rap

*you tell your friend who's attending Cornell U, that you'll send her money
if she buys you Cornell sweatshirts and stuff

*you seriously considered making wallpaper out of some Soundgarden pics

*you figured out different ways to involve the members names in a crossword
puzzle

*you spend hours on end online, just reading, and writing about them

*you're online friend calls you on the phone and she tells about her
Soundgarden experiences and when she met the band and you feel all
wishy-washy (for lack of a better word) inside like you were the one meeting
them and talking to them and you're giddy for days afterwords

*you told you your mom for the first time ever that you hated her and could
never forgive her b/c she denied you the only chance of seeing Soundgarden
live (last year's lolla).....and you still hold it against her

*(here's a sad and pathetic one) you find out they broke up and although no
one in the band died, you're so upset you puke

*your dad is so worried that you'll do something foolish after you find out
that he drives by school to make sure your car is there five times and even
calls the school to check

*you've called everyone and their brother Chris, etc including your
teachers.... damn

*you still get excited when Soundgarden comes on the radio, even though you
have five versions of that song at home and have it memorized

*you walk into the local used cd store and the owner looks at you and
says,"we didn't get anything liss, I would've called you"

*you're at a cd fair w/ NOBODY you know, yet as you're searching desperately
through the stacks of stuff, literally 10 people approach saying stuff
like.... "are you the Soundgarden girl? There's something over there.... "
or " you're the Soundgarden fanatic right? I saw something in that
booth...."

*you're friend who doesn't even like Soundgarden comes through the drive thru
window you're working and orders a "soundsalad" and a "grilled cornell"....

*you walk into school the day after the breakup, and nobody talks to you,
even you're teachers, they just give you sad, worried looks (except for a few
morons.... grrrrr)

*you literally have insulted a dj to his face, and argued for ten minutes on
whether or not he played enough Soundgarden

*you request one of their songs a day

*you've paid an average of $25 a boot just to hear what they sound like live

*you're tatooing the ultramega "S" on your lower back

*you've bitched at numerous people for not talking about Soundgarden or their
members properly

*the only rule in your car is: change or talk during a Soundgarden song and
you can walk

*if you don't listen to a cd a day, you're brain begins to malfunction

*you're in love w/ four men whom you do not know

*you think the lead singer's nose hairs are adorable

*you've watched Motorvision so many times you can recite it in Spanish

*when people say thing like, "kangaroo" or other words that have some far
away connection to the band you explain the entire story of how they were in
Austrailia and they ordered "'roo" and Chris wanted lamb.....er anyway....

*you demand your friend play you Spoonman on the piano, "one more time" like
fifty times

*you dream about making them dinner

HOOTCHIE OBSESSIONS:

*you have imagined what it feels like to lick the----heheheh....anyway....

enough? no? well I have more..... =P`````

Today I was watching MTV and the stupid special about women in the
Citadel came on. I was about to turn it and all of a sudden the
beginning of Flower came on. It was pretty cool. It makes you wonder
why MTV doesn't play any Soundgarden videos anymore.

Oh, and on the Cable Guy, Matthew Broderick's friend, (what was his name
in the movie?) was wearing the Superunknown shirt.

No one cares but I was bored.

In the oh so wonderful city of cleveland, 107.9, its ONLY modern rock station
has a weekly show that discusses various websites and stuff.... anyways, as I
was adorning my wall with more soundgarden pictures, the annoying chipmunk
sounding host was talking about the depth of information and interaction of
fans on band websites. The first site they discussed was Seth's site and
commented on the amount of info it had and they even mentioned the wordsearch
puzzle. They also mentioned the interaction between fans and they spoke of
the mailing list. What was even cooler is that they kept talking about all
of the cool pictures and sounds you can download and they called it one of
the best sites featured on the program.
Just thought it would be nice for this good news....
