My review of the new Truly cd is up now, with sound clips and ordering
info as usual.

Please don't overlook this band. If you haven't heard them, make a
point of doing so, and check out the unofficial page while you're at it.

<< I was just wondering if that was because the list was in
alphabetical order (by last name) or if whoever was in charge of
compiling the soundtrack thought Sunshower was the best song on there >>

Not that this matters at all but I noticed Scott Weiland on the bottom of the
list. I'll leave it up to you to figure it out.

Subject: MTV '98 Preview

Tonight at 11 PM EST, MTV will be airing it's 1998 music preview. It may be
a good idea to watch because Matt Pinfield is hosting it and he is the only
good person on that worthless station. With Pinfield hosting, the odds of
Chris Cornell's solo album being mentioned increase greatly. We damn well
know MTV can neglect Soundgarden, but I think this may be a lucky night
because we all know, that they probably looked upon Soundgarden as Chris' band
and it will be very hard not to mention him

"And I hope it's a sweet ride. Sleep tight for me... I'm gone"

P.S. If I read another post about how girls rule or about this bullshit about
Pablo flapping his big fat mouth, I'm going to get pissed off. You people are
wasting other people's time with your pointless ramblings.
I think everybody that feels the same way about this will agree with me when I
say: WE GET YOUR POINT, NOW SHUT THE HELL UP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Subject: Apologies

I have not had internet access for a while so I apologize to anyone who may
have been trying to contact me. There were 3 people I was talking to about
trading and I would really appreciate it if you guys emailed me and let me
know what's happening. You know who you are...I hope. :) I also apologize
to Seth about ListServ since my internet account was terminated without
warning (or put "on hold" as my then internet service provider put it) and I
did not have time to unsubscribe from SOMMS using that email address so I
don't know if ListServ is still sending mail to it and it's getting sent
back. I'm sorry if that's causing any trouble.

I did get "A-Sides" for Christmas and the pictures are very nice, but are a
bit painful to look at since I will probably never see them being
not-Soundgarden in the same pic together again. I tried to listen to the
darn thing, but I didn't get any further than "Hands All Over" and I
couldn't stand it any more. I think I would rather hear those songs on the
albums they came from originally than on this piece of work. I'd even
rather hear "Bleed Together" from the BIMH single. That was the only SG
thing I got for Christmas. I asked for a SG t-shirt, but I was told nobody
could find any. :(

I'm starting to get a bit excited about that "Great Expectations"
soundtrack. It'll be out in mere days! Of course now that I've said this
and commented on my excitement, the evil music store people here in my town
will read this and make sure that they don't get the soundtrack until
Juvember of the year 3087. Music store people are like that.

May Soundgarden be with you. (BTW, I didn't get the idea from "Star Wars"
nor have I ever seen any of the movies or am interested in doing so.)

I got megasounds a while ago.... i think its great cuz of all the things
inbetween the songs.....like how chris had just been:
"smoking crack with terry ferrel(i think thats his last name) in the back, and
he told me we should play this song.....he said its really manly, it reminds
me of people i dated he said...this is ty cobb...."
i crack up every time i listen to that part.... ;) anyway i also love how its
a complete and steriotypical bootleg.....the misspleled BIMH and rhinosaur,
and the sound quality of it is really kinda bad..... but i do recomend it for
any SG feend.

Subject: I have things for sale.

OK, here's the deal. I spent too much on Christmas. I have a couple of
extra copies of CD's that I do not want. I need money, so I am going to
part with these collectibles. I will be selling them at my cost plus a
portion of shipping charges. The CD's in question both have their price
tags, and I also have the original receipts.

First on the selling block is the Born to Choose compilation. In case you
are wondering this contains the smash hit "H.I.V. Baby" by the famous
Soundgarden. The price with tax is $9.07 + half shipping charges (Canadian
Funds).

The second CD is one entitled Badmotorfinger/SOMMS. Yes, this is in fact
an offer to sell SOMMS. I originally bought it for someone on this list,
but this person has not emailed me back, sooo tough luck for them. The
price with tax is $57 Canadian + half shiping charges.

All responses directed to me please (gfox@gulf.uvic.ca). I will be taking
requests for a few days to allow digesters (like myself) to read this and
respond. Once I deem time is up, I will select someone in a random fashion.

Adios, and good luck to all.

                Greg

Hi

I think that I had heard that Hiro left the band to go back to school. He
has a Masters in Chemistry or Physics or Engineering or something like that.

And yes the is the bassist for Truly. They recently cut their latest album
called "Feeling you up". You can go to the official Truly site at:
http://www.seanet.com/~bigenormous/truly/index.htm

The Unofficial site is:
http://www.wcug.wwu.edu/~akehurst/truly/truly.html

You can listen to .ra clips from the album and you can then go to Rodeo
Records (which is owned by Mark Pickerel, drums and formerly of the
Screaming Trees) to purchase the album. They'll snail mail it to ya and
even autograph it! Pretty cool, huh?

Hmm...If those girls are that dumb to give away soundgarden tickets...Then
it must be that the rest of the town is equally dumb, ignorant, and Trendy
trash..so my plan in dealing with that city would be to drop a few 1950's
town-eater A-bombs on them. They deserve it...and Soo one will TALK ABOUT
THAT DUMB SHOW EVER AGAIN!! I'm finished.

(SVH the center of the known universe my ass...) SOrry that show just bugs
me.

Okay guys. This server won't be up forever, but its got a lot of
soundgarden mp3s. By now you people should learn how to fish so you can
eat for a lifetime. None of us were born knowing about this stuff, so if
you don't know what an mp3 is, search altavista for +mp3_faq or whatever
you can come up with. Anyway, it's anonymous ftp... and I'm to lazy to
revise the mp3 web page so, just get a client at www.tucows.com... I prefer
ws_ftp.

hey guys...i don't know if you all discussed this before i joined
SOMMS..but..I just finished reading the interview with Kimmie in the
February '98 Guitar World...and let me tell you...I WAS NOT
IMPRESSED!..not because of Kim Thayil...don't get me wrong..I would
never mean to disrespect any SG member or any SG fan...but we didn't get
any REAL answers..When we got the press release last April 9th...we were
all left with a bunch of answered questions...and I personally thought
that this interview was going to clear all that up..but I was wrong. I
learned nothing new from it...I am still a very unhappy fan with NO REAL
ANSWERS....oh well...

Love, Rachel*

ps--can someone give me a nickname too cuz there are WAY too many
Rachels on this mailing list!!!
