Well, the way I see it, Matt went to the Pumpkins not thinking he would be
there long. He would just help them with a few songs, maybe even write a
few. Then, when they all got in the studio, Corgan told him that it would be
a soft, mellow album and that he would have no creative freedom, no ability to
write any music or even play to his own liking, he would have to play what
Corgan wrote because it is CORGAN'S band. Matt was obviously unhappy with
this being that he had just left one of the most creative and artistically
diverse bands in the world. The fact that he would not be able to contribute
anything to the album except the drums made him realize he was wasting his
time. So, he recorded the songs Corgan wanted to do, them told him to stick
it. That is if he is officially out of the Pumpkins entirely as we speak.

OK, well, I guess it's now confirmed. Matt Cameron is not the Smashing
Pumpkins permanent drummer. It appears he only played on a few songs,
with their previous drummer doing some, and some computer (that's what
I call a drum machine) doing the rest of the work for the Pumpkins. Go to
http://www.canoe.ca:80/JamMusic/jan13_iha.html for more info.

I am not a Smashing Pumpkins fan BTW, I just enjoy searching for new news.

This is the absolute truth. Matt wasn't going to join the Pumpkins
full time, Billy or any of the Pumpkins didn't ask him to. They just wanted
him to play on the record, so that they could make one up before they did
auditions for their touring drummer. It's the facts.

Tab for Bleed Together is in the Feb. Guitar Magazine, just incase anyone
wanted to know....Also the lyrics are different than what is on the page, so
look at it.

Subject: something interesting

I think that Flower is a continuation or a sequel of sorts to the Hand
of God. My explanation follows:

In the beginning of Hand of God when the preacher is speaking to the
masses, apparently everyone is watching a parade or something of that
nature:
"We should stand there with all other of God's creatures on the
CURBSTONE and watch this MARCH of time"

The preacher proceeds to say:
"I hear one of them wispering, he is a Hebrew sage, he says 'vanity of
vanities the whole thing is a vain PARADE"

Flower basically seems to be a song about the typical airheaded
teenager. The second and third verses appear to depict a parade or
procession:
"She would do her DANCE. a painful MASQUERADE...In her UNIFORM, STUDDED
BRASS AND STEEL..."

That's one part of the 'Hand of God' sequel argument. The other part
requires a return to the preachers speech:
"VANITY of VANITIES the whole thing is a VAIN PARADE"

In Flower, as all of you well know:
"Along her VAIN PARADE, along her veins..."

I hope that everyone can sort through this rather convoluted mess to
make sense of what I am saying. Does anyone think that Flower might
indeed have this sort of connection to Hand of God?

                         Later,
                            Ben

Umm... A couple years ago Green day played here in Columbus, Ohio and I read
about it the next day. It said that they "attempted" to play Black Hole Sun.
I've always kind of wondered what that would sound like. Though I don't care
for Green Day that much. It would be interesting to see them play a cover,
being a 3 peice band, with a singer that can't sing that well. I'm sure that
it's bootleg only though.
