i just read your post re jeffy buckley. jeff is my favourite artist of
all time and sg my favourite band, so naturally when i found out about
thier friendship i was very interested!

not much has been documented about their relationship, but i do know they
were friends. they respected each others music hugely. infact i heard
that jeff was one of the only performers that chris would make the
effort to go out and see play live. it was for these reasons that chris
was brought in to take what would have been jeff's place in the production
of sketches.

i recently heard that there may be a recording of a jeff/chris
colaboration out there somewhere. a guy wrote to me and said that his
friend who works for a radio station was on the case. it seems highly
unlikely that one does exist, but that hasn't stopped me from holding my
breath. surely two such musical genii as these could not have helped but
jam together!

anyways, that is all the information i have been able to get hold of, but
believe me it's not through want of trying! if you find out anything
interesting don't hesitate to forward it on to me. i would greatly
appreciate it!

kate

man, i'd never heard about that episode at their last gig!

i saw sg twice in three days about a month before they broke up. first in
sydney, then in newcastle in australia. i noticed that ben looked really
withdrawn at the newcastle gig. he stood right off to the side of the
stage and at times played with his back to the crowd. he remained very
stioc throughout the whole gig and i don't think his facial expression
changed once. when they broke up i always thought it had something to do
with ben. it just all seemed so sudden. one month they were in australia
headlining our biggest music festival, the next they were playing their
last gig in hawaii.

still makes me sad when i think about it,
kate
