Well, I was really disappointed at first when the mini-tour had no stop
in Cleveland....and now the new tour schedule has no stop in Cleveland
either. What's up with that! Any other sad Cleveland SOMMS-sters?

Sad in Cleveland,

Tracy

uhhh, this is a little weird. no where. i mean no where NEAR TEXAS!!! what
the fuck@! Austin's the fucking live music capitol of the world...there are
SOOO many awesome clubs that he could definately play...aaaaarrrrggghhh!!!!!

god, this week has completely sucked. this list of tour dates is fucked up.
i'm sorry, you play chicago (go there), detroit(hockey town my ass),
milwaukee, philly(be sure to check out woolworths chris), new york (which
you've already played but it's ok cause it's the shit), boston, toronto (eh),
all during the middle of fucking winter whereas you could be enjoyin the shit
playin La Zona Rosa, sipping on margaritas and enjoying yourself in nice
sunny texas...ahhhh, the nearest show is either St. Louis or Denver!@!!!!!!!
i don't get it. no wonder soundgarden hated touring. dude, you're playing
the shittiest places during the winter. back ass backwards mang. ya move
from seattle cause the weather sucks...but you decide to tour the north
during november and december...hmmm. play the south during the winter and
enjoy the spring up north. it's rediculous, texas is like the second most
populated state yet once again gets screwed. not all of us are slackjawed
yocals. you play all of those dates up north...yet don't even bother with
the rest of us. i can totally understand playing out west...totally
understandable...it's your home and all....but.....ehhhhhh....please have
this be some sort of sick joke.

i swear there's a freaking curse on me. the hockey gods don't want me to see
chris. first my ticket to dc ends up god knows where in dallas...yeah,
cancel that shit, now i find out that i'm gonna have to go to denver again
just to see one of my favorite musicians. this sucks. yes, i'm complaining.
PLUS 6 SHOWS IN GERMANY!!!! full scale North American tour my ass.

Matt, when you and John and Ben start playing live (along w/ the mystery
guest on vocals Mr. McBain mentioned)...bring the conspiracy to town. come
to SXSW. i'll take you all to the Salt Lick for some all you can eat
barbeque if ya got the munchies...come by kvrx and i'll get you on the radio
(sunday nights mang...live college rocknroll), i'll get all of my friends to
pitch in for a case of Shiner (yep i'm that broke)...don't miss austin!
please!

ryan

(thinking to himself...what am i complaining about, cheap trick's coming back
on the 5th of october :)
ps. sorry for using fuck so much mang

I just picked up a copy of Motorvision and watched the video for the firs=
t
time. What do you guys think of it? I must say that I was a little bit
disappointed. With the camera moving so much and the slow motion effects=
 it
was hard to get a real sense of what was going on at those shows.

I was especially disappointed that there is not a sustained shot of Matt
playing JCP. Always a highlight at SG shows.

Interesting to see Kim playing a Firebird instead of the white Guild. Be=
n
looked like a mad man onstage. Chris looking appropriately very early 90=
s. =

And Matt as intense as ever.

Of course the music was excellent, capturing a rawness that I think would=

survive in their live shows but be less apparent on their more polished
followup records. The performance of Mind Riot and S&B were particularly=

memorable for me.

Why didn't they video tape their later tours? I hope they surprise us wi=
th
more footage.

later,
omar

Subject: TOWN HALL PERFORMANCE=SHEER PERFECTION

Hey Sommsters! I've finally gotten around to typin' up a little review of
Chris Cornell's performance at Town Hall. Lemme tell ya, IT WAS ABSOLUTELY
MAGNIFICENT!!! First of all, I must state that Natasha Shneider and Alain
Johannes really proved their capabilities to me. Those two undeniably gave
their all, that Tuesday night!
And Chris himself was just a wonder to behold! I hate to repeat what others
have already posted to the Somms list, but the guy's voice is just amazing!
Come to think of it, it's beyond amazing! I was so impressed I almost
crapped in my pants right there and then! One of the highlights of the show
actually came in the form of a certain song entitled Mission! I do not lie!
Personally, I was not fond of this song when I initially heard it in mp3
format, but the live rendition was remarkable! In fact this was the first
song to really electrify the crowd! With that stated, I'll close my short,
but sweet review since I don't want to spoil the experience for anyone on the
list. In case you were wondering, Chris looks quite healthy (although thin)
and seems to be as strong as ever. For those of you who have never seen him
perform live, Chris looks just a tad different in person. He's nowhere as
tan as he sometimes looks in photographs (kinda pale actually, but not
really) and his hair color is more of a chestnut brown as opposed to being
jet-black. Just thought you guys might wanna know. Well, it's been swell,
but the swelling's gone down. I sincerely hope all you Sommsters have as
great a time as I did, once you get the chance to see Chris Cornell PREACH
THE END OF THE WORLD!!!

I have a feeling that Chris' album may do better than we expect.

I listened today on 107.7 a Seattle radio station. Waiting an hour to hear
the new Stone Temple Pilots song. Luckly they played Black Hole Sun and a
Pearl Jam song to get me through. I heard the song and I was F*cking
disappointed. The song sucked, and I heard the new Nine Inch Nails song
also, that F*cking sucked too.

Even though being disappointed by those songs I relized something. Chris
ain't gonna have no competition. I says that he's going to be #1 for sure.
I thought he was going to have some compitition from STP and NIN. But after
hearing those songs.....
