Louder Than Live is a 50-minute home video featuring 5 songs
filmed live at the Whisky A Go-Go in Los Angeles, California, on
December 7 and 10, 1989, as well as 2 studio clips. The live tracks
are "Get On The Snake," "Gun," "I Awake," "Big Dumb Sex," and a medley
of Spinal Tap's "Big Bottom" and Cheech & Chong's "Earache My
Eye," with footage from both shows mixed together. The studio clips
are "Loud Love" and "Hands All Over." It is on this videocassette that
Chris Cornell is seen wearing his infamous silver duct-tape
shorts. The bassist for these performances was Jason Everman.
In addition to the home video, A&M released a promo 12" (on blue vinyl, July 1990) and CD (May 1990) with the same title, Louder Than Live. The vinyl includes the 5 live tracks from the video as well as "Beyond The Wheel" and has a picture of Kim Thayil's face on the center label. The CD came wrapped in brown paper, duct-taped closed with a yellow and black "Soundgarden: Louder Than Live" sticker slapped on the front; it includes "Hunted Down" as well as the 6 other live tracks. This album has actually been bootlegged on black vinyl, so look out. Genuine copies have the A&M logo on them. |
