I can't beleive I'm the first to post! It's a day later and my ears are still ringing! The show was great, spectacular; it just rocked. They opened with SPOONMAN and encored with JESUS CHRIST POSE and I won't even tell you about Chris' solo BLACK HOLE SUN. The opening bands sucked (I mean SUCKED!), which only made the anticipation sweeter. Great lights, great sound, tight, tight, tight. Whew! Hey, how does SOUNDGARDEN feel about bootlegs? I have this DAT...

What can I say, the instant SG took the stage it was obvious who's night it was. They sounded incredible, I made a goal I want to have guitar tone like Kim. The opening bands weren't that great. They were just not the genre for such a heavy context. SG totally mixed it up with old favorites, current heavies, and caterwalling punk riots. I'm considering seeing them again in Salem, OR if I get the chance. If your thinking about seeing this band DO IT! They are a totally pro, heavy, riotistly good time.

I am glad to report that I partook of the goodness that is
Soundgarden! Yes, I drank of Chris Cornell's spittle, and
it was good.
After enduring two horrible opening bands, I was overjoyed
when Soundgarden took the stage... when they began
"Spoonman" I knew that it would change my life forever. I
was speechless as I absorbed Chris's crooning as he sang a
solo version of "Black Hole Sun" and I wept tears of joy as
it morphed into "Outshined." "Ty Cobb" got the crowd moving
and we all had the priviledge of being flipped off by Mr.
Cornell, my heart leapt when they began "Slaves and Bull-
dozers" as the finale.
It was a beautiful event, and I will undoubtably never
recover from it, my date had to be home at midnight so,
unfortunately, i missed the encore, but such is life, i
suppose.

So I'm in the front row at this God-forsaken stink hole near
the Great Salt Lake, and I'm tolerating the opening band,
Tenderloin. Now, what almost nobody notices is that Ben is
offstage left, in full view, jamming to this band. Kim is
standing next to him, but is behind some speaker. Matt is
offstage right hanging out with some girl and is barely
recognizable with a hat on. THAT was my entertainment through
the openers. Everyone else was to preoccupied telling their
pit-mate how band the openers suck.
Fortunately, I kept my front row status (I felt sardine-like,
though) until Soundgarden came onstage. I've got to hand it to
the guys, they really kick-ass live. Other bands I've seen
don't even come close to the type of show these Hell-raisers
put on.
My Highlight is finally seen Ben go to work on his Bass. How
he manages to lug that thing around the stage like he does is
still a mystery.
I do have some pretty big pet peeves, though.
Here in Salt Lake, we don't know how to mosh right. These
fucking idiots who should stay at home and listen to their
fucking Megadeth couldn't seem to figure out when enough was
enough. I'm standing no where near a pit and some fucking
drunk sweathog metalhead knocks me and the 4 or 5 people in
close proximity off our feet. Then his equally boozed friend
does the same thing. Who let those fucking jerks in, I wonder.
How do they know that their at a concert -- they can't even
tell where they are going.
Okay, you don't have to put that in the review. I'm just pissed
and needed to vent that.
Jesus Christ Pose was their encore. Totally fucking amazing.
Ben kicked a bottle of water out into the crowd. Kim got close
to the crowd. Everyone went ballistic.

I have been to many concerts but none of them were
even close to soundgarden. I think I will remember
that show for my whole life. During the first two
bands me and my friends hung out upstairs, till
it was nearing Soundgarden time. We started working
our way up front then they came out on stage and the
whole crowd just went wild. I lost my friends
in a mosh pit and finally worked my way up front
near the beginning of Outshined. At the end of that
song, Chris Cornell took a break and was reaching
into the audience and touching people's hands.
I am proud to say I touched Chris Cornell's hand.
Nevertheless I will never wash my hand again.

i attended the show in salt lake city
oooohhhhhhhhhhh my god it was the most fucking bad thing i have ever seen in my life
kplothow@burgoyne.com
Holy shit this was the best concert I've ever been to. The best part was I met Chris before the show and got his autigraph! If they come near you don't miss them, it'll be the biggest mistake you'll ever make!
wadekevin@aol.com
It kicked ass
crackerman2@juno.com
I also have attended many concerts, including
the previous Soundgarden show at that fucking
rodeo place. But the show that Chris and the fellows
put on this night outdid any show ever.
Soundgarden kicks Ass.
